In-Camp

My name is Benton, and I am from, well…all over the place. I have lived in Tennessee, South Korea, Connecticut, and Mississippi. I am 20 years old, and currently call Starkville, MS my home, where I am a sophomore at Mississippi State University majoring in Aerospace Engineering. I came to CCB for three summers when I was in elementary and middle school, so I am so excited to have the opportunity to come back as a counselor!

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:

The achievements that I am most proud of are earning my Eagle Scout rank and third-team all-northeast status in cross country.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:

My favorite things to do are hiking, running, tennis, disc golf – basically anything outdoors!
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:

I love that children come to challenging activities with an open mind and are willing to try new things. Sharing in the joy children proudly wear when they accomplish something they had once thought impossible is the best feeling in the world!
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:

I am most excited to help young boys grow into men. CCB will present campers with loads of exciting firsts, and I am so happy to be able to play a part in the maturing and growth that campers experience.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

I want them to have fun! I want campers to learn to try new things, appreciate the outdoors, and learn to become close with new friends in the process.
