Cameron Taylor

Hey guys! I'm Cameron from Colne, UK. Currently, I'm living in Newcastle upon Tyne and studying Automotive Engineering at Northumbria University. I love getting involved in all kinds of activities, especially those around water, which is why I'll be joining the waterfront team! It'll be my first time in the US this summer, and I can't wait to be part of the amazing experience I know camp will be!

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?

So far, my biggest achievement has to be getting into my top choice university, where I have just started my 3rd year. It definitely hasn't been an easy ride getting here, but I am proud of myself for persevering and reaching my goals. However, I still have my heart set on bigger and better things for the future!

What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?

I am currently part of my University's snowsports society, which involves frequent trips to indoor and dry-ski slopes, in preparation for hopefully going on a trip to the Alps early next year! I love furthering my skiing ability, as well as socializing with new people from all different backgrounds.

What is your favorite thing about working with children?

By far it would have to be their energy, it's simply unmatched. Their positivity and enthusiasm is contagious and you just can't be down when they are around! It's extremely rewarding to pass on skills you have learned to others, whilst helping them to mature and find themselves.

What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?

I know when I was younger I would've loved summer camp if I had grown up in the US, and I want to give the campers the amazing experience I always imagined it was! I am most excited to hopefully be a great role model for the campers, and if they leave with an array of new skills and confidence in themselves, then I can say I have succeeded as a counselor.

What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?

I really want my campers to learn to grasp every opportunity with both hands! I want them to learn that if they really want to do something, nothing can stop them if they truly put their mind to it! I think camp is the perfect place to encourage this so they can leave as more rounded gentlemen.
