Charlotte Deehr

Nurse

Hi! My name is Charlotte or Char. I'm from Orlando FL and am so excited to spend this summer at Camp Carolina!
I have been a nurse for 12 years now in various capacities, and have fallen in love with pediatric nursing. I have been working with children throughout my career, and have been specifically working with them for the past 6 years. Working with kids really spoke to me because there is something incredible about the way they view the world, and there is so much to learn from them.
When not working I enjoy being outside, fishing, reading, art, and spending time with family and friends. My husband and I have a young son who will be a camper, and he is very excited about all of the different activities.
I'm looking forward to meeting your children and ensuring they have an incredible and happy camp experience this summer.

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:

I have recently finished my BSN degree with a 4.0.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:

I grew up playing Soccer and Lacrosse, and still, love them both. I also play the piano, and love to read a good book. Nothing beats sitting in the sun reading.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:

Their view of the world. How they process and interpret things in a way adults don't. Their unique qualities and sense of humor. There is always something to learn from them.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:

As a parent, I understand the feelings that occur being separate from your child for any length of time. It is my goal to ensure the parents are aware that their children will be treated with great medical care should they require it, and that they do not have to worry about their safety.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

Camp is a time of growth, and sometimes that growth can be uncomfortable. Assisting these campers to grow, express themselves, and continue to try and strive for their goals by supporting them. To learn to not give up, and that they truly can do anything.
