Hi, I'm Georgia! I'm from a little town called Feilding in New Zealand, but I like to say my home is Nashville because I am a country music lover. And home is where the heart is right?
I became a Volunteer Firefighter in 2020, which keeps me super busy, but I love being able to make a real difference, and the skills I've learned are invaluable. In my downtime, you'll find me painting, reading, baking, and cooking, or at the gym. You could say I'm a creative soul.
I love animals, and can't wait to share my passion for horses with the campers at Camp Carolina!
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:
Traveling to America! It is a long distance from little New Zealand, and being so far away from family and friends, I learnt a lot about myself. What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:
My favorite thing to do would be exercise. Whether that's going for a hike, a weight session at the gym, sport, or running. My current focus is training for a half marathon in April. What is your favorite thing about working with children?:
Seeing them try something new. As an adult, you try new things less and less, but when you do it can be very humbling. Seeing how children approach mastering a new skill or just giving something new a go, reminds me sometimes success can be something as little as letting go of inhibitions and giving it your best shot. What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:
To create a fun and stimulating learning environment and be a memorable counselor to the campers! What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:
They can achieve anything they set their mind to. Nothing is too big of a dream or unrealistic, if you truly want something and you are prepared to put in the work, anything is possible!
Sometimes our mindset is our greatest limiting factor. If you believe you can, you're probably right. If you believe you can't, the same goes.
