In-Camp Staff

Hey everyone! My name is Julian Andres, and I'm from Colombia. Currently, I am finishing my university degree as a foreign language teacher.
This summer will be my second year at ccb, and I can't wait to come back to those mountains to live a new unforgettable experience with lots of fun!

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:

I feel proud to have learned four languages since it has given me the opportunity to travel, venture into new experiences that often take me out of my comfort zone, and meet new people and cultures. Moreover, it allowed me to win a scholarship to continue studying in France some of the subjects  I am most passionate about, like pedagogy, children's literature, and foreign languages.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:

Definitely skateboarding since the first time I rode a skateboard I haven't stopped riding! Every day I try to practice even if college doesn't leave me that much time. Also, I like to read comics, practice Italian since I want to learn a fifth language, and sometimes I practice swimming.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:

Given my experience last summer at camp and my teaching practicum at some schools, my favorite part is being surrounded by smiling, energetic, talented kids from whom you can always learn something new or interesting in a very fun and authentic way.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:

I want campers to find a counselor who will push them to improve and try new challenges and activities, and who will be there to help them with whatever they need.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

With the passing of summer, we learn to value the simplicity of life, where we not only disconnect from technology, but also from routine. Therefore, I want the camper to understand that being at camp opens the doors to getting out of the routine, learning something new, and facing new challenges, sports, trips, and adventures that they can take advantage of while having a lot of fun.
