Hey there! I'm Marcel am 23 years old and I'm living near Hamburg, Germany. Traveling the world and meeting as many new people/cultures always has been a dream of mine. Due to my apprenticeship and my subsequent study, it wasn't easy but after recently finishing it I decided to take a gap year and my first stop will be CCB, where I will be for the first time this summer. I am really excited to be part of this experience.
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:
I am most proud of being a part of producing commercial airplanes and after just finishing my study as a technical engineer deciding to follow my dreams and solo travel the world for one year. What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:
Meeting my friends as often as I can definitely is my favorite thing to do. Besides that I play soccer in a club, go swimming once in a while, listen to music kinda every day, and if I find the time I sometimes play the piano or the guitar. What is your favorite thing about working with children?:
Due to my volunteering in the parish, I've been working with children for almost nine years now and there is not one day that passed by where I didn't enjoy kids being kids. You have such an impact on them. Teaching them how to play some new games, work out a presentation, and talk in front of people, in general seeing them being happy and also seeing that they're making progress is what I love about working with kids. What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:
Teaching the kids how to have fun and connect with people, keeping them in a safe environment, and being part of a beautiful team that is ready to give the kids a beautiful summer.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?: That it is really important to be open-minded and to enjoy your life as much as you can. Meeting new people, stepping out of your comfort zone, etc. Also, I would love them to know that they can be who they are not just in the camp but also outside of it.
