Hi! My name is Nina and I'm from The Netherlands. This will be my first summer at CCB and I can't wait for it to start! I've been working with kids for more than 7 years now, mainly as an English teacher or teaching assistant, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
Right now I'm in my third year of college, with the goal of becoming an English teacher. When I'm not busy with school I enjoy traveling, reading, singing or drawing/ painting. I'm very creative and really enjoy doing, and teaching, arts and crafts activities. this is one of the many reasons that I'm excited to join the amazing CCB team this summer!
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:
What I'm most proud of has to be moving to another country by myself at the age of 19. First I lived in Spain for three months and straight after that, I moved to the USA for a year. Moving away from home at such a young age has taught me so much about life. It's really helped me to grow as a person and to learn about different cultures and people around the world. What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:
It has to be drawing right now. I love capturing moments by drawing them and watching those moments come to life on paper. But besides that, I also really enjoy other activities where I get to be creative. What is your favorite thing about working with children?:
My favorite thing is teaching them something new. The look on their face when they've accomplished something they weren't able to do before and their enthusiasm when they do something they really enjoy doing. I also really enjoy conversations with kids. The way they talk about what keeps them busy and look at the world through their eyes. What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:
I want to be a good role model for the kids and I want to help make this summer their best summer yet. Besides that, I'd love for them to learn new things about themselves and the world around them, and to assist them with that in any way I can. What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:
To live life to the fullest and be good people while doing so. I believe that this camp will be so much fun for both the campers and staff and that they should take every opportunity they get to enjoy their time at CCB. I also believe that it's important for the staff to be good role models, but also for the campers to be good role models for their fellow campers.
