Olivia Buza

Hi! My name is Olivia and I am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is going to be my second summer at Camp Carolina as the Equine Director! I am super excited to see familiar faces and meet all of the new campers that are joining us this summer. When I am not at camp, I am at university studying Biomedical Sciences.

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:

For the past few years, I have been rescuing horses from all over the country. I find horses that have been neglected, abused and give them a loving new home. Rehabilitating and finding these animals new homes gives me a sense of purpose and has to be one of the biggest accomplishments in my life.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:

I enjoy any high adventure outdoor activity, which makes camp the perfect place for me. But my favorite has to be Horseback Riding. I am trained in many disciplines including Hunter/Jumpers, Western, and Trail Riding.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:

Day to day life with school and work is so serious. Working with the great kids at camp takes things down a notch and allows me to have fun with them. There are many factors that I enjoy when working with children. Every day is different, and nothing is predictable when working with kids. It makes every day a fun adventure and keeps me young at heart.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:

I am excited to continue the horseback program at CCB and make it a memorable experience for all the campers. Horsemanship is an amazing skill and experience that I cant wait to share again.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

In this day and age, appreciating the outdoors is becoming less popular as kids are veering towards video games and social media. I am looking forward to showing the boys how much the outdoors has to offer without the distraction of a screen.
