Stephen Strapp

In-Camp Staff

Hey Ya'll! I'm Stephen, older one at 33 but that doesn't slow me down. Originally from Charleston, SC but while serving active duty in the Air Force for 10 years I got to live in Japan for 2 years and now currently in Florida. Started summer camp late 2 years ago in Orlando but now excited to spend it with CCB for the first time! I can't wait to meet everyone!

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:

From all the experiences, adventures, challenges, up's and down's I've had in life, the person I have grown to become is what I'm most proud of. I have learned the valuable lesson in life if your not happy, change it.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:

Between Photography, skateboarding, paintball, soccer (playing and coaching), pickleball, volleyball, cornhole, anything swimming-related, traveling, you name it. I try to stay as active as possible and always am willing to try something new.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:

Being a mentor and role model. Having a kid look up to you and just want to be around you for who you are and how you treat them is amazing! I've had a little in the BBBS program, coached soccer for little ones between ages 5-12 for about 12 years, and have been a counselor with little dudes already at camp. Not one regret and even though I taught them many things they taught me so much more in life.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:

To make the summer of 2024 a new unforgettable adventure! New friends, new campers as well as old joining me, and a new camp has a nice start to it already and I can't wait!
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

There was a saying that while I was in the Air Force I would always tell myself. "Don't count the days, make the days count". You only have that summer at camp for that year so try and wake up each day ready to live that saying. When it's time to go home don't give any reason to look back and say, "I wish I would of did this or that". Try to go home tired and happy you just made life friendships with experiences you can now share with friends and family who will look at you crazy talking about "The Camp Life" that we all know and love.
