My name is George, I'm 18 years old and I am from Wimbledon, United Kingdom. Most of my interests revolve around team sport. I particularly love rugby, having played the sport from age 5 both locally at a club and at school. I captained the Senior 2nd XV in my final year of school and, after graduating, I traveled to Dubai on a year abroad where I played for the Dubai Knights RUFC.
Aside from my sporting interests, I am an offer-holder from several British universities to study undergraduate Politics next academic year. I look forward to the possibility of exploring future career opportunities in the industry. In addition, I have always enjoyed performing in school and amateur theatre productions and I hope to pursue acting further as a hobby at university.
I also have a caring side to my personality and believe that I am approachable and able to give good advice when asked. I have a good level of experience working with children too and I am very excited about the opportunity to work in a similar environment again at Camp Carolina this summer.
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?: In my final year of school (last year), I wrote a 17,000-word extended project primarily focused on the role Tsar Nicholas II played in his own abdication in February 1917. The project was very successful (graded A*) and compliments my other grades very well.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?: Together with my love for distance running, I work out regularly and find this essential for maintaining my physical and mental well-being.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?: Every day offers a new challenge. Working with children can be unpredictable and is always varied and rewarding.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?: I will bring a really good level of enthusiasm to camp and I hope to inspire an interest in the activities that I lead and am passionate about.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?: I hope that the boys will use the opportunity to build lasting friendships, gain confidence and independence and really embrace the outdoor living experience.
