My name is Stacey and I am from South Africa. I am an active person, I always play sports and keep active, I love learning new skills and I really enjoy working with kids. For the past 5 years, I have coached various sport profiles, namely; swimming, field hockey and learn to swim, to various age groups. I enjoy helping others realize their potential. I enjoy the outdoors, doing activities and exploring.
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?: When I went to America for the first time, I proved to myself that I could be away from home and take on a new adventure all by myself. That shocked me, and I was grateful that I could prove to myself that I could do anything o set my mind to.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?: I love field hockey, it has always been my favorite sport, and paintball is a super fun activity I would never say no to.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?: I enjoy helping children realize their potential, I enjoy helping them prove themselves wrong when it comes the things such as, not believing they could do something or being too scared to try something. I enjoy helping the children get to know themselves and their capabilities. Getting them to believe in themselves and others.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?: I want the children to remember not only what they learned or improved on, but I also want them to remember how much fun they had, how amazing their summer was, and being excited to come back the following year to have even more fun. I want to have such an impact with what I do, that the children remember me as a fun, loving, responsible counselor that they can come to with any problem or any victory.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?: I want the campers to remember to always push to be better, work hard on improving their skills, never stop learning new skills. I want the campers to realize they can do anything they put their mind to. And at the end of camp, I want the campers to realize and be grateful for what they have.
I want all of this because I believe any person can achieve greatness, they just need someone to believe in them, and show them the support they need. And at the end of camp, I believe, if a camper is grateful, their gratitude would show not only the counselors how thankful they are, but their parents too.
