Kia Ora! My name is Aiden and I'm from New Zealand!
I would describe myself as passionate, an adventurer, and a hard worker. Growing up in New Zealand, I developed a passion for the outdoors and any sport or activity that keeps me active. My favourites are hiking, surfing, mountain biking, gymnastics, stunts, bouldering and rock climbing. When I'm not working as a photobooth attendant or a background actor in film and tv, I'm out exercising, honing my skills, pushing out of my comfort zone or having a good time with friends. Great friendships are something I've come to value a lot in recent years.
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?
This year I competed in Australia's National Ninja Warrior Championships and National 100m and 3km OCR Championships. It was the first time New Zealand had sent over a team to compete, and considering NZ doesn't yet have a ninja gym, I was very proud to finish 6th in the Ninja Champs and 2nd in the 3km OCR Champs. Our team also won the 100m Teams event which was an incredible moment for me. What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?
Of my many hobbies, I spend the most time bouldering at my local gym. I started bouldering about three years ago. I have taken part in a few competitions, been on bouldering trips outdoors, and have recently started top rope and lead climbing.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?
I think children have a lot of great qualities that we can learn from them as adults. Children are friendly, outgoing, trusting and open-minded. They ask questions, try new things, learn new things, and always say what's on their mind.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?
I am looking forward to sharing the activities I enjoy with the campers, and I am excited to help them find something they are passionate about that they will continue to pursue in the future.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?
The quality I most want the campers to learn this summer is to be considerate of others and the world around them. I care about the environment and other people, and it is important that from a young age people learn to consider their effect on others and the planet, whether good or bad.
