Hello! I’m Abi and I’m from Edinburgh, Scotland. I’m super excited to be working at camp this summer. I have spent the last 9 years working with children in a variety of settings and I’m hoping to bring fun, positive energy to camp. I love the outdoors, being creative and authentic human connections! What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:
Overall I’m proud of the person I am and the person I am becoming on this journey we call life. If I had to be specific I would say one of my biggest achievements is getting my degree in paediatric nursing and becoming a neonatal nurse. I take pride in seeing how far I have come over the last 9 years in my education and career. On reflection, it’s fulfilling to know that I have made a difference for families by caring for their babies. What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:
I love to get outside with my dog and go for long walks or hikes. Being outdoors helps me reset, and I enjoy the challenge, fresh air, the views, and great conversations you can have along the way. I also have a creative side and love photography and crafting. Music is another passion of mine. I play guitar and can play some basic chords on the piano, I find taking time to sit and play music very relaxing. Travelling is also something I try to do often. I love seeing new places and meeting new people from across the world. What is your favorite thing about working with children?:
My favorite thing about working with children is their energy and imagination. I love how they see the world with so much curiosity and excitement, it makes every interaction fun and unpredictable! Whether it’s crafting, playing games, or exploring outdoors, I enjoy embracing my own inner child while still being a supportive and responsible role model. What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:
This year at camp, I’m most excited to create a fun, welcoming environment where kids feel encouraged to be themselves, try new things, and make lasting memories. What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:
This summer, I want to play a part in encouraging everyone to try new things, build confidence, and have fun. Whether through outdoor adventures, creative projects, or teamwork, I hope to play a part in helping the kids step outside their comfort zones and make great memories in a supportive camp community.
