Adventure Staff

Hi I’m Lily, all the way from England, and I’m thrilled to be part of the Earthworks team this summer! Working at camp is part of my year long travel plans where I’m aiming to collect as many new experiences as possible and meet new people.
One of the things that has always kept me open to trying new things is my willingness to be bad at them at first- not being afraid to be the least skilful person in the room has helped me to step outside my comfort zone and pick up all sorts of new hobbies on the way. Whether it’s rock climbing, surfing, tennis or even scuba diving I’m all about the adventure and the growth that comes with it. Can’t wait to help all the campers explore the great outdoors this summer!
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:
Becoming captain of the first team at my local field hockey team!
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:
Back in England, I love to spend most evenings at my local CrossFit gym. However, when somewhere warmer, you’ll always find me on my paddle board.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:
Their ability to fully immerse themselves into activities without worrying about what others think. They have this incredible ability to dive into an activity wholeheartedly, even if they aren’t perfect or even graceful at it yet.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:
Whilst encouraging the boys with all different activities is super important, I’m mostly excited to create an environment that feels safe and comfortable. To learn without judgement and maintain openness to everyone.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:
My hope is that the campers leave with the mindset and skills that will help them grow into mature and respectful men in the future. I want them to recognise that it is okay to pursue goals, even those that may seem out of reach at first. But most importantly, I hope they learn the value of persistence and hard work in achieving those goals.
