In-Camp Staff

My Name Is Isiaih, and in summer 2024 I'll be 20, I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana and My favorite sport is American Football, I always loved it growing up.  Summer 2024 will be my fifth Summer at Camp Carolina, my first year was in 2019 as a CA(Counselor Assistant) and I had the best time ever thanks to all the support I had, I was home sick at first but thanks to the amazing Counselors I had and other campers I felt at home and in a safe space. I'm super excited to get back out there and continue to give kids the best summer ever with the awesome team we have.

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:

I Would have to say that I am able to step out of my comfort zone because Camp Carolina was the first time I've been away from home for so long, doing things I don't get to do at home so that gives me so many stories to tell friends back at home. I love to travel and at camp, the trips are like traveling in a way.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:

Since New Orleans is known for its parades also known as Mardi Gras, I was a part of my school marching band and I was also the captain so that was a great achievement for me, but if I'm not doing that I would play other sports(Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, and volleyball for fun)
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:

I used to go to my middle school and help with the marching band there and give them tips on how to improve and show some of my skills, at Camp Carolina, there are so many options to choose from so being able to help kids getting better at something and having fun at the same time is super cool, so I would have to say that is my favorite part about working with children.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:

Being able to make camp a safe space for all of the kids so they can have as much fun as possible.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

I want them to give Nature a try and learn there are so many things you can do and learn without technology, and develop some independence and Initiative, but most importantly I want the boys to have the best summer ever while making new friends and lifelong memories.
