James Quin

Hi Everyone! My name is James, most of my friends call me "J" it's dead easy to remember. I am from the UK in a place called Preston (which is near Manchester if you didn't know) and my family is all from the North West. I can't wait to meet everyone at camp this year I'm honestly over the moon to be able to come. I'm 20 years old and I'm a university student (I think it is college for Americans) and I'm studying Sports Science and Biomechanics and going into my 3rd year.
The fact I study sports science I think shows the love I have for sport already, and I have played it all my life. I love every sport imaginable from rugby, football, volleyball, hockey, basketball and so much more. I spent most my childhood with other kids since my mum was a childminder or babysitter of all ages (2/3-15/16). I spent many hours with them playing sports, video games and general quiet time with them for at least 10 years of my life. my experience of working with kids is more than the average person and even used to work in children play centres working with even more kids! I love to mess about and have a laugh with everyone I meet and never will you have an awkward moment because I can talk till my mouth falls off. I can't wait to meet all the new campers or campers making a return. See you all soon this summer!!!
What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?:

Head Boy (class president). This required lots of hard work and dedication to get the role. This shows I'm not only mature but trusted among staff and almost 1000 students to fulfill the needs of my role.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time?:

I love to play sports with my mates on weekends, I also love going to the gym most days of the week. When I'm at home I love to play games in the evenings to relax after a stressful day at University.
What is your favorite thing about working with children?:

Being around energetic, fun, laughable people all day. Every day is different and never the same which is why I love working alongside children.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB?:

I really want to make an impact on the kid's summer just as when I was a kid, other people helped me enjoy my summer as a child. That is the ultimate goal for me coming to camp this year.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

To really to disconnect with the technology world and just have some time to spend with other children and try a range of activities and make friends for life. Just enjoy being in the present and getting along with as many people as possible in the best environment.
