Hi my name is Jared Lord I’m from the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Im a whitewater kayaker that loves spending time outdoors.

What are you most proud of/biggest achievement in life so far?

Whitewater kayaking down the Nevis Bluff River when I was 16 years old was a huge achievement for me. Along with it being one of the scariest things I’ve ever done, it was also the most rewarding experience at the end on the rapids.
What is your favorite hobby/sport/thing to do during your free time? 

Whitewater kayaking is my favorite sport and hobby along with water skiing and spending time on the lake with friends and family, I also love riding my dirtbike through the trees.
What is your favorite thing about working with children? 

Passing my knowledge and love for the sport onto the children and watching how fast they all learn and grow. Seeing their faces light up when they learn a new task that they’re proud of never gets old.
What impact are you most excited to make this year at CCB? 

I'm looking forward to making a good impact on the whitewater side of camp and seeing how much the kids improve.
What goal or camp philosophy do you really want your campers to learn this summer?:

I think all the camper's goals should be to have lots of fun all the time and leave with a huge smile on their face with the knowledge of knowing that they got as much as they could out of camp.
