Brevard, NC… Tell me more about this little corner of the world that CCB calls home! We may be bias, but we think this little town is one of the best in the world. Located in Western North Carolina, Brevard and Transylvania County we have been named best small towns for years-Check out what Southern Living has to say and National Geographic and Outside Magazine It is pretty clear that CCB has an incredible place to call home!
What do we love about this area that we think our CCB families need to check out when in town?
The waterfalls! Transylvania County is called “Land of the Waterfalls” so you are never far (or sometimes a very far hike!) to a jaw dropping water fall. We love the Hooker/High/Triple Falls hike in Dupont as well as checking out Looking Glass Falls (right by the road so great for less adventurous hikers) and of course-Sliding Rock (not really a waterfall but SO.MUCH.FUN!). Here is a full list to plan your pick up/drop off adventures
Asheville, NC! Forbes announced that Asheville was the place to be for 2018 and we couldn’t agree more! The closest major city to CCB and a must stop for families (in our opinion!). Amazing food, craft breweries, art and culture. We recommend wandering around and getting lost in the magic of Asheville!
Mountain Biking. Brevard has been named one of the best mountain biking destinations in North America We recommend The Hub or Sycamore Cycles to rent a bike and for advice and maps on where to ride. We love Dupont’s Ridgeline trail where we take our more advanced bikers.
Brevard-Brevard itself is a charming town filled with great food, art and music. We recommend spending an afternoon wandering around downtown. Check out to filter down activities to your interests!
For our campers-the real beauty is in the form of the natural resources we are surrounded by. Climbing at Looking Glass, Biking in Pisgah, Rafting down the French Broad and Pigeon River, kayaking the green river, wakeboarding at Lake Jo… Everywhere we take our campers helps the campers achieve our goals of appreciating the simplicity of love, the wonders of nature and respect for our natural environment.
